Norfolk House
A charming 19th-century village property in south Leicestershire, Norfolk House reflects the character and craftsmanship of traditional domestic architecture.
Projects of this nature demand a sensitive approach balancing modern interventions with the preservation of the building’s original fabric.
Nova was appointed to deliver the structural design required to transform the kitchen space, introducing a new opening to accommodate contemporary bifold doors and create a stronger connection between the interior and garden.
Working within the constraints of the existing structure, we designed a bespoke steel solution to support the new opening. Particular attention was given to the strict deflection limits specified by the glazing manufacturer ensuring that the performance of the bifold doors would not be compromised over time. This required careful calculation and coordination to achieve both structural integrity and functional precision.
