This historic farmhouse, set within a rural setting in Great Missenden, has evolved over time through a series of extensions and alterations resulting in a property that blends traditional character with more contemporary additions.

Nova was appointed to deliver a comprehensive structural design service to support internal alterations within the newer part of the house. The brief centred on creating a generous open-plan living space at ground floor level, requiring the careful removal of existing loadbearing walls.

Our role involved the full design and specification of the structural steelwork required to redistribute loads safely and efficiently. This included detailed calculations, connection design, and the production of clear, coordinated drawings to support construction on site.

Given the layered history of the building, particular care was taken to ensure that the new structural interventions integrated seamlessly with both the original and more recent elements of the property.

The project is currently on site and progressing well, with completion anticipated later this year.
